DROP-IN BreathSense miniature RIP SENSOR

Currently in development is BreathSense.
BreathSense is a miniature RIP sensor, with only essential functionality. The small module can easily be integrated in your wearable product or research project.

Each BreathSense module periodically generates a reading of one connected RIP strap. Up to 4 BreathSense modules, collecting data from up to 4 RIP straps, can be connected in daisy chain or UART based bus. Only 3 or 4 connections are needed between each BreathSense module.

The UART communication bus can be connected to your own central data processing unit, or one of the BreathSense modules can be equipped with a USB socket to output data to a PC.

The communication system is optimized to easily integrate the BreathSense technology in smart textile or wearable.

For Breathsense, a few carrier PCB boards will be available with standard features like Micro-USB or USBC socket, Jack plug socket for interconnecting, popper or eyelets connection to textile RIP straps. Carrier boards can be easily designed for your own requirements.

BreathSense has the same measurement accuracy as Breathpal. It is tolerant for the RIP strap technology: the strap is just a conducting material, with overall resistance below 10 Ohms. The strap can be a zig-zag woven wire or knitted conductive textile.

In prototyping phase now. Expected release Q3 2025. Expected unit price around EUR 50,- each.
